Updatez

If you see any of my games being featured in a magazine, it would be awesome if you could tell me via krimelo@live.com. Such stuff is motivating!

I did an interview for http://quote-un-quote.tumblr.com/ which will be posted quite soon!

Also, Glaucoma is getting some sick highscores! http://www.gmhighscores.com/highscores.php?gameid=1186

Back to learn java!

Big project!

Yesterday, I started to plan a new project which by far will be my biggest one (not the crazy adventure game in the previous post). It will also be written in java which I started to learn some days ago. I can't tell much about the new project more than that it will differ significantly from my previous games. It will focus on multiplayer as it looks now. The game will take pretty long time to finish I presume, so I´m thinking about making another little blog just for the developement of the game.

It's a strategy one.

The Interview and Future Plans

Here's the interview I told you about in the post yesterday: Interview

I´ve also got plans for the future. I'm soon going to start working on a crazy adventure game filled with interesting characters and some moral decision making. And also, I'm going to start try to make some money by creating simple, addicting and fun Iphone/Android applications, but still not going too casual :P.

Exhibition and Inteview

As I mentioned when I released Glaucoma, I made it for The Experimental Gameplay compo's theme 'Neverending'. The truth been told, Glaucoma wasn't very neverending, but more an traditional arcade game. When Baby Castles announced the winners of the prize of being part of their exhibition, I wasn't very surprised that Glaucoma didn't win anything. What was a bit more surprising, and fun (!), was that they had an extra bonus game shown at the exhibition. And the extra game was selected from all the entries from all previous themes (probably a total of 250-400 entries), and the chosen game was my AutoCannibalism. Awesome! Hopefully they will take some pics from the exhibition in Manhattan!

A french gaming site called The Oujevipo made an interview with me today. Will post the interview when it gets published!

Siamese Enemies

So at last I finished Siamese Enemeies. The game has been pretty much finished for a couple of weeks now but there was some annoying bugs that had to be fixed.

2-Player ONLY!

Overview:
Your mother just want one baby.
You and your siamese brother must
therefore go to the hospital and
separate your bodies. On your way
to the hospital you will find
yellow shaking boxes in which there
are organs you can collect.

Depending on who collects the organ,
the organ will be on your side during
the operation. Your siamese brother
can steal your organ during the operation
but it's an advantage to collect the
organs since they appear on your side
of the screen (takes time for your
opponent to grab them).

The organs you insert will give you
different powers when racing back home
to your mother.

First home wins!

Press 'R' to restart level if you get stuck

Glaucoma

The Experimental Gameplay Project's September theme was 'Neverending' and you had seven days to make something for it if you wanted to. I made this game called Glaucoma (an eye disease) in less than two days but it ended up quite well anyway, in my opinion.

Here are the guidelines I tried to follow:

•1. Look interesting even when not being played. Attract players!

•2. Be instantly playable, understandable, intuitive. Assume your game will be left in any possible state, and must always be ready for one player to leave, and another player to pick up some time later.

•3. Avoid a title screen, or any menu system at all.

•4. Use sound, but don’t rely on it for gameplay.

Music

Siamese Enemies has been pretty much finished for some time now. But the thing left is the music. And since I haven´t found any music that I think fits the game, I´ve decided to make some tunes myself.

If someone finds music that may fit my future games, or if there are composers out there who want to make some music for them. Please contact me at krimelo@live.com

Will start working on a short little game for the Experimental Gameplay Project this weekend also. Stay tuned.

Siamese Twins

I´m working quite hard on my first 2-player (only) game in which you and your friend play as siamese twins. Will put up a teaser-trailer as soon as I think it´s time.

Upcoming Game And Donate-Button

I´ve started working on a new game which will be a 2-player only. It will probably also be a bit creepy, or at least weird. Will post a screenshot and tell you more about it when I´ve worked more on it.

Also, I´ve added a donate-button for those kind peoples who may want to support my game making with a buck or two.

Questions To God

There was no real point with the ask-god-a-question-part in Nation Of Reincars more than that it´s quite fun to read all the questions which was sent to me.

Here´s the 100 first questions (there are some gaps between the numbers since I had to remove some spam, that´s why it goes up to 113):

Nation Of Reincars

Use Z to read text in game

This is a game based on a quote from The Koran. I´m atheist but simply wanted to try to make a game about religion in some way. The result is a game in which you have to reincarnate in the perfect order to finally meet God.

There is a high-res version and a low-res one since the high-res one may work too slow on slower computers. The low-res one may also be a bit slow but I´m working on making it faster.

Abilities:
Turtle - Swim
Rabbit - Jump high
Worm - Dig (press down when on ground and then left and right to angle and up to dig)
Bird - Fly
Monkey - Climb (press up or down when close to a wall to climb on it)

Tip:
Press M to toggle on and off seeing the whole map. It´s good for planning the right "reincarnation-order".

Music: At The Heart Of It All by Aphex Twin

Updated the game with some bugfixing

Sneak Peak

Started working on a game today that I´ve been thinking about to make for some time now.

It will include 6 main characters and hopefully it will not be a trial-and-error-game, but more of a platformer-puzzle-game.

This is what I´ve got after 10 minutes of working time, the unfinished-gameplay-area impacted into fullscreen:

AutoCannibalism

Finished my game for the experimental gameplay project' s theme "Repeat" yesterday.
It´s about food, mainly. There's more dialogue and less gameplay in there but people seem to not have a problem with that, yet. Hopefully the "RepEat part" is clear!

It got featured on the Indie Games blog. Which is awesome!

Updated the game and fixed some bugs since the release on the Tigsource forums.

Medi Climp

I finished this one today: it´s about a climbing mouse, a confusing journey and an important choice. I made this game mostly because I really wanted to finish something, no matter how well it would result in. Play it today!
